/timezone

Set or update your preferred timezone. The bot uses this preference to interpret match times you enter and to display match times to you in your local time.

Usage

/timezone

No parameters required.

What happens

You receive an ephemeral acknowledgement: "Check your DMs to set your timezone."
The bot sends you a DM with a two-step timezone selection flow.
You select your geographic region, then select your specific timezone.
Once confirmed, the bot saves your preference for all future interactions.

The command works both in a server channel and in a direct message with the bot.

The selection flow

Step 1 — Select your region

A dropdown appears with the available geographic regions:

North America
Europe
Latin America
Asia-Pacific

Select the region that matches where you are. This filters the timezone list to options relevant to your area.

Step 2 — Select your timezone

A second dropdown shows the available timezones for your selected region. Select the one that matches your local time.

Use the ← Back button to go back and change your region if needed.

Confirmation

Once you select a timezone, you will see a confirmation: "Your preferred timezone is now [timezone]. I will use this timezone when you provide match times."

When to use it

First time setup — If you haven't set your timezone yet, the bot will prompt you automatically when you first use the Set Your Match Time button. You can also run /timezone proactively before your first match.
After moving — If you travel or relocate to a different timezone, run /timezone to update your preference.
Correcting a mistake — If you previously set the wrong timezone and entered match times with it, update your timezone first, then re-enter your match time.

Notes

Your timezone preference is saved globally — it applies across all servers where the bot is present.
Previously entered match times are not retroactively adjusted when you change your timezone. Only future entries use the new preference.
